In 2003, Rolex introduced the Submariner ref. 16610LV to commemorate the Submariner's 50th anniversary. It was the first time the Submariner had a green bezel, which explains the nickname "Kermit" after the famous green frog.
The 16610LV feature a 40mm diameter and 13mm thickness and a 'maxi-dial'  with larger markers and hands for enhanced legibility and more lumen for nighttime reading. As with all modern Submariners, the Kermit has a water resistance of 300 meters and houses the Rolex Calibre 3135.
Rolex only produced the Submariner ref. 16610LV for seven years before discontinuing it in 2010 to make way for a new green Submariner in the form of the 116610LV "Hulk."

This model is powered by Rolex's caliber 3135, a self-winding mechanical movement developed and manufactured in-house. The 3135, like all Rolex Perpetual movements, is a certified Swiss chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision timepieces that have passed the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute's (COSC) tests. In addition, it features a Parachrom hairspring, which provides increased resistance to shock and temperature changes. As with all Oyster watch movements, its architecture ensures its unmatched reliability.
This mechanism oscillates at the frequency of 28,800 revolutions per minute (4 Hz).

The Decoding of the Anniversary Submariner:
Bezel:
B4: The fourth bezel features a pointed 4 and a "Square 5" inscription. The internal corners of the five in '50' are shaped like squares in this bezel.
Dial:
D4: Round "O" in "Rolex" and 'Oyster Perpetual Date' in a narrow-spaced font. The 'R' of Oyster is positioned between the legs of the Rolex' R.' Narrow 'Swiss Made' with three-minute markers that have been shortened; the 28 and 32 markers have been lengthened.
Case:
C1: The case has solid lugs, and model number 16610T is engraved between the lugs. The "T" stands for "Trou Borgne," or "blind hole." It is critical to note that the model number engraved on the case DOES NOT INCLUDE THE "LV" suffix. The serial number is engraved in the traditional Rolex style between the lugs at six o'clock.

This example serial number Z94**** falls under the following category:
Mark VI: Serial D4 to M
Case: C1
Dial: D4
Bezel: B4

Rolex introduced the original Submariner Date in 1953; this model reference 16610 features no side holes, giving the Submariner a cleaner, more refined appearance.
Rolex produced this model from 2003 to 2010, followed by "Hulk."

Nicknames are prevalent in the world of Rolex watch collecting. The Rolex "Kermit," given to the Submariner 16610LV with a green bezel, is one of the most well-known nicknames.
